Who we are

Guidevio is a trading name of Om Prakash Kumar, a sole proprietor based in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India.

What we collect

Email address, when you request a free resource, subscribe, or make a purchase.

Order and payment records: what you bought, when, the amount, and a payment reference. We never receive or store your full card details — those go directly to our payment provider.

Download records, so we can support you and detect abuse. We store a hashed form of your IP address rather than the address itself.

Basic analytics: pages visited, referrer, and campaign parameters where present.

Why we process it

To deliver what you asked for: the resource, the receipt, the download.

To meet legal and accounting obligations relating to sales records.

To understand which content is useful, using aggregate analytics.

Marketing email is sent only where you have opted in, and every message contains an unsubscribe link.

Our legal basis for each purpose

Delivering your purchase, sending your receipt and download link, and answering support requests: performance of our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Keeping order and payment records: compliance with our legal obligations as a seller (Article 6(1)(c)), and our legitimate interest in defending claims and preventing fraud (Article 6(1)(f)).

Marketing email: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message. Withdrawing does not affect anything we sent before.

Analytics: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), given through the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time.

Hashed IP addresses in download records: our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of download links (Article 6(1)(f)).

Who we share it with

Payment processing: Cashfree Payments India Private Limited. Card and bank details are entered on Cashfree's systems and are never stored by us.

Email delivery: Resend, for order confirmations and download links.

Hosting: Vercel. Database and file storage: Supabase, hosted on Amazon Web Services.

Analytics: Google (Google Analytics 4), but only if you accept analytics cookies. Nothing is sent to Google if you decline.

We do not sell personal data.

International transfers

Our database and stored files are held in Amazon Web Services' ap-southeast-2 region in Sydney, Australia, and the servers that handle checkout run in the same region. Payment data is processed by Cashfree in India.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, this means your data is transferred outside your region, and neither Australia nor India has an adequacy decision. We are putting appropriate safeguards in place with each provider and will update this page when that is complete. The data involved is your email address and order records; card details are never transferred to us and go directly to our payment provider.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records are retained for six years from the end of the relevant assessment year, as required by Rule 6F of the Income-tax Rules, 1962, and — for any period in which we are registered under GST — for seventy-two months from the due date of the annual return, under Section 36 of the CGST Act, 2017. After that they are deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

Subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe, then removed within 30 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data (data portability), to object to certain processing, and to withdraw any consent you have given.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

To exercise any of these, contact privacy@getguidevio.com. We will respond within one month, as data protection law requires.

If you are in the EEA you may also complain to your national data protection authority; a list is at edpb.europa.eu. If you are in the UK you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. You can do that without contacting us first, though we would rather have the chance to put things right.

Your rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023

For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, Om Prakash Kumar, proprietor of Guidevio, is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy.

Where we rely on your consent, it is sought by a clear affirmative action, is limited to the data needed for the stated purpose, and may be withdrawn at any time with the same ease with which it was given. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it, and we may keep records we are legally required to keep.

As a Data Principal you may obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you and of our processing, together with who we have shared it with (Section 11); have it corrected, completed, updated or erased (Section 12); have a grievance redressed (Section 13); and nominate another person to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated (Section 14).

We do not knowingly process the personal data of anyone under 18. This site is not directed at children, and we do not carry out tracking or behavioural advertising directed at children (Section 9).

If we become aware of a personal data breach we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and each affected Data Principal in the manner prescribed (Section 8(6)).

Section 16 of the Act permits transfer of personal data outside India to any country other than one the Central Government has notified as restricted. Australia, where our database is hosted, is not a restricted country. Payment data is processed and held in India by Cashfree Payments India Private Limited.

To exercise any of these rights or raise a grievance, contact privacy@getguidevio.com. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
